题目: Non-destructive and label free chemical analysis using Raman spectroscopy at the micro and nanoscales
报告人: Naresh Kumar教授(苏黎世联邦工学院)
Dr. Naresh Kumar obtained his Master’s degree in Physics at the Nanoscale from King's College London. He carried out his PhD research in a collaborative project between the National Physical Laboratory (NPL), UK and Utrecht University, Netherlands on the “Development of Tip-enhanced Raman Spectroscopy and its Application to Catalysis Research under the guidance of Prof. Bert Weckhuysen.
Dr. Kumar worked as a research scientist at the National Physical Laboratory, UK for 9 years, where he built and applied a state-of-the-art AFM-based tip-enhanced Raman spectroscopy system to solve cutting edge problems in diverse areas of scientific research including heterogenous catalysis, organic photovoltaic devices, polymeric materials and nanobioimaging.
Since 2020, Dr. Kumar is working as a Senior Scientist in the Department of Chemistry and Applied Biosciences at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH) Zurich, where he is leading the research on the further development and applications of tip-enhanced Raman spectroscopy.
报告摘要:
This lecture will provide an overview of the primary linear and non-linear Raman spectroscopy methods. Specifically, the following techniques will be covered: confocal Raman spectroscopy, resonance Raman spectroscopy, stimulated Raman spectroscopy, and tip-enhanced Raman spectroscopy. The focus of this lecture will be on the fundamental principles of these major Raman spectroscopy techniques and their applications in non-destructive and label-free chemical analysis at the micro and nanoscales.
